Garden Shed

This is a shed that I built in the garden many years ago. This shed was built mostly out of salvaged pallets. If you look at my old blog
http://restfultrailsfoodforestgarden.blogspot.com/
You will see that I love using salvaged materials that I can get for free or reuse on the property to make new projects. When we first moved onto this property in 1971 there was an old foundation on the property made from cement. It had dirt and weeds in the middle, which we dug out, and when we had our garage floor cement poured there was some left over. Ron's uncle Raymond Kimble and his sons poured the cement floor for the garage and they were willing to pour the remaining cement into the old foundation and level it for a floor.
Wonderful.
So I stood those pallets up on end, they were 7 foot long each. I put a header under them and a header on top of them and they were probably oak cause you couldn't get a nail into them, so I assembled everything with screws. Squared it up with posts on the corners and put a partition across the center with a salvaged door in it to go between the two rooms.
We built trusses and a double door on the east side and put a salvaged door on the south side for access to each room from the outside. We put a roof on (that had to be the guys as this gal doesn't do high places) and we ended up with a very very cheap shed. Painted it once, but it needs a new coat of paint again, maybe this year?? This is a great place for lawnmowers, rototillers, chippers, etc . So that is how we came to have this garden shed. Joel has thought about running electricity to it someday, we are close with a post and electricity nearby at the pond
